'promised land path'...

'promised land path'

mythological fingertips brushing incomparable worlds.

this daughter of earth and sky, weaving together the space outside the sensory mortal with the textured dust of bone and vessel and ghosted memory .

a promised land path 'tween the celestial and the earthly.

anticipation itself.

can it be that the incongruent force of such a merger, the barren heath tangling with the fruit filled sky in hovering mist, gives birth to island galaxies and dimensions as yet unknown?
or, perhaps, it is rather the simplest molecule of partnered perfection...

a breath exhaled, hovering in foggy dew above the moors.

waiting in tiptoed anticipation of the unsuspecting, the unknowing, the wandering soul.

(here. a shepherd traversing the land in focused, frantic search of the sheep, only to taste the stars on inhaled breath.)

yes, this is it.  as intuition calls by fluttered whisper within.  it is only after, in that place where the force behind the subtlety releases in ringing bells.  a vibration traveled through shaking finger and stolen muscle memory.  limbs collapsing in the wake of such weight.
our pendulum bodies, tipped at either end of life in ephemeral grasp of these foreign spheres.  left vulnerable to the gravitational pull of quaking lands and fluttering heartbeats.

theia's generous proffering of light, however fleeting it may prove.

for this is the goddess. not creature, but patient protector that lies within.  in that promised land path 'tween body and soul.

pretty printed world...

"a cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed... it feels an impulsion... this is the place to go now.  but the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all the clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons."   ~  richard bach

'from flesh to sea'...

..., by laneybutler )

'from flesh to sea'

that driftwood memory plays with the grains in my mind.  shifting under the sailboat moored in tomorrow's harbor, with picture paths of spoken words and calendar weeks.  straining, heaving, against the tidal wave... a pirate's plundering of the skull

let go

  cast off that captive line

fibers slipping... burning down the length of palm, pouring back the salt from flesh to sea in an excruciating caress of this moment's dance...  a tango of last breath and promised years.

up, by lissy elle )

throw up those wings of limbs and fly upon the uncertainty of the horizon, be it an unchartered sail through tempest skies; a topsy-turvy teetering into that ever evasive western light.
extend, if you will, and grasp the silent, sightless air; fingers bent in a carving out of life line

for that calcification of time, that unmoving scar, forges a slippery surface to skate into the tomorrow... a perilous mode of transportation, forcing full focus on the now, on the present, on the thin edge of precarious balance

coast to the shore? or soar with bubbling glee...  a laughing cry splashed out into the sea

joy, by lynn fagerlie )

voice...

well, i found another poem, sorting through my stack of written word from my high school days, which seemed to capture the mood of this collection of flickr lovelies... so, i thought i would share another with this week's set.  this was one scribbled out of piece of notebook paper... i have such terrible penmanship anyway, so it took a bit of deciphering on the first read through!

'voice'

"do you hear the words, or the feelings locked inside them?
can you hear the meanings?
is this my voice or only a harsh sound?

memory's voice tastes of meaning's warmth or cold

a fire providing heat and tranquility

fostering destruction

burning out with the breath of closed ears

can you hear only this silence?
still, can you not feel the heavy truth behind?

the truth of fighting freedom flight

can you hear the frustrations that cry out so loud to be heard.
to be remembered. reborn?
or do you settle for the quiet words of expectation which seem to drown out all others
