hello again...

well, after almost a year long break from blogging, here i am again!  what started as a forced break, with the demise of my beloved macbook, eventually became a voluntary step away... less internet time, more balance of time in general. but now i once again feel excited to return and write/share as i feel inspired.

that being said, i've been doing some exciting projects that i'll be sharing, and have a lot of new work that will be available in the coming weeks.

i've also joined instagram (@winsomehollow), which i'm loving...sharing daily bits of life (along with peaks into my design process and upcoming work), and finding a wonderful community in the process. anyone IG-ing? i'd love to see your feed!

spotted succulent...

spotted succulent, just added to the shop...

{cotton, recycled linen, wire armature, wool stuffing, vintage pottery}

i knew when i found this piece of vintage tribal print pottery in an antique shop last month, that i'd have to wait patiently for just the right textiles... and then i came across this perfect shade of spotted cotton (a color somewhere between navy and teal and gray and green), which happened to pair perfectly with another blue recycled linen that i had.  after that, i just had to convince myself that i could part with this one!

home grown...

we have this fantastic, neighborhood restaurant just a few minutes down the road from my house... home grown.  where the produce is grown out back.  where every type of person gathers... visiting for both the delicious comfort food (that also happens to be healthy) and the welcoming atmosphere.  where local art can always be found gracing the walls. and where vintage goods are sold in the makeshift thrift store at the back of the restaurant.

love making my way through after a big breakfast... the thrill of finding sweet treasures.

this last weekend, clint eastwood and amy adams spent some time enjoying the delights of home grown as well, while filming 'trouble with the curve'...

seems amy adams enjoyed peeking through the vintage goods ;)

last month i found this fantastic vintage pottery planter, with dark gray and teal stripes.  the kind of piece that is just so deliciously perfect.  i know it was just waiting to be paired with the right textile piece!  and, so, this sweet planter inspired this textile succulent, hand stitched from vintage, recycled cotton chenille, with a felted wool blossom.  a wire armature, to allow the succulent to be reshaped in several different ways. finished with real moss and bark...

 this one is going to be difficult to part with
