as i'm moving to a new place this summer, i've been trying (with partial success) to avoid buying anything for the house...
but what happens when one is presented with a true thrifting treasure, which you just know in your very core will be the perfect piece for that lonely spot in your house (or sometimes when you just know in your very core that you can shift things around to make that perfect spot in your house)? well, here are a few pieces which ended up coming home with me as a result...
the fabulous, midcentury dark glass lamp (with the perfect patina on the metal base, i might add), pictured above, was one i bought on a half-price thrift store day for $12. so, i didn't feel too guilty about snatching this one up
please try to ignore the sad state of the succulent behind the lamp. despite all appearances, i do actually have a fairly green thumb... it's the watering part that i frequently forget about. again, this is why i make textile plants
and a lovely old, wooden peg rack is always useful. this one will function as a place to dry my flowers and herbs... the sweet hanging planter is from ikea
all of these pieces were actually purchased weeks ago... my resolve is holding steady at present
happy sunday
