saturday shopping list - (on a friday) june 4th

"the men of experiment are like the ant; they only collect and use.  but the bee... gathers its materials from the flowers of the garden and of the field, but transforms and digests it by a power of its own."  ~  leonardo da vinci

well, was it two weeks ago that i was a day late with the saturday shopping list? so, this week i'm a day early (that's a little better, right?).  as i'm sans internet access at home until sunday, i thought i would go ahead and post the list today, while taking advantaging of being held rain hostage at my sister's house.

i've been feeding the kitties and watering the garden, while my sis and family have been on vacation... this afternoon i finished giving the garden one last meticulous watering.  turned off the rain barrel.  laid down the hose.  and............  cue the torrential downpour that has help me prisoner for the last hour and a half.

and, this is 'torrential downpour' atlanta style.  i remember well, from my college days of living by the beach, the sheets of rain which fell in the afternoons; but they could be counted on to last for only about ten to fifteen minutes.  these atlanta sheets of water downpours?  oh, they often last roughly anywhere from a few hours to eternity!

sorry for that bit of a rambling vent (and the need to resort to a bold font!)... i missed my afternoon coffee while waiting out this rain.
